New Year Edition

This week as part of 'The Global Write' we are encouraging you to join #OneWord365 Founder Alece Ronzino on deciding on a word to represent your goal for 2021.

As the founder and Curator of 'The Global Write' the word I have chosen is EMPOWER. I will work hard this year to EMPOWER myself and others professionally, educationally, psychologically and socially.
What is your word?

- Bronwyn Joyce

#OneWord365

” Forget New Year’s Resolutions. Scrap that long list of goals you won’t remember a few weeks from now anyway!

Choose just one word.

One word you can focus on every day, all year long… One word that sums up who you want to be or how you want to live.

It will take intentionality and commitment, but if you let it, your one word will shape not only your year, but also you. It will become the compass that directs your decisions and guides your steps.

Discover the big impact one word can make.

One word. 365 days. A changed life. “

Reflective Writing

What is Reflective Writing?

Reflective writing is:

  • documenting your response to experiences, opinions, events or new information
  • communicating your response to thoughts and feelings
  • a way of exploring your learning
  • an opportunity to gain self-knowledge
  • a way to achieve clarity and better understanding of what you are learning
  • a chance to develop and reinforce writing skills
  • a way of making meaning out of what you study

Reflective writing is not:

  • just conveying information, instruction or argument
  • pure description, though there may be descriptive elements
  • straightforward decision or judgement, e.g. about whether something is right or wrong, good or bad
  • simple problem-solving
  • a summary of notes
  • a standard essay.

Your writing task is to write a reflection about why you chose your 2021 word. Research what your word means, write about what your goals are to achieve your word. Your reflective writing piece can be simple or it can be detailed, it’s your choice.
