2020 The Year That Was….

As we move into the final weeks of the year, we stop and think about the year that was. Our own personal journeys, heartbreaks and celebrations. A year where every individual young or old has been challenged.

This week will be the last ‘Global Write’ prompt for the year. Let’s see if all our participants can publish their reflection of 2020. The Global Write will restart again on January 4th, 2021.

Plant the Seed - Unpack Your Thinking

Let’s reflect on the year that was using De Bono’s Six Thinking Hats.

White Hat:  What are the facts about 2020?

Yellow Hat: What were the positives that we can reflect on from 2020?

Black Hat: What difficulties and dangers did we face this year in 2020?

Red Hat: What emotions and feelings have you felt throughout 2020?

Green Hat: What new ideas do you have and how were you creative in 2020?

Blue Hat: What questions do you still have about this year?

This week to unpack your thinking we want you to reflect on the infographic below. Answer the thinking hats questions and place them on a storyboard or in your writer’s notebook.

Prompt

This week there is only one prompt. Tell us about what you remember about 2020. The world, isolation, remote learning, anything. We are looking for really dynamic, powerful words to describe a unique year.
